SPRINGFIELD, Kan. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team was blanked by Drury University, 3-0, Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Missouri. USI falls to 5-10-0 overall and 3-7-0 in the GLVC after a 1-3-0 road swing.
After a scoreless first half, the Panthers scored the game-winner 12 minutes into the second half. Drury, 7-7-2 overall and 4-6-2 GLVC, proceeded to seal the victory with a pair of late goals for 3-0 .
The Screaming Eagles had their chances in the match with 13 corner kicks and 12 shots, four on goal.
USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field next weekend for a two-match homestand. The Eagles will host the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Lewis University Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The USI-Lewis match-up will be Senior Day for the Eagles.
The final regular season match will be October 25 when USI travels to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to play a 4 p.m. rescheduled match. The contest was originally scheduled for September 25, but was postponed due to heavy rains.
