KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at Rockhurst University Friday evening in Kansas City, Kansas. USI falls to 7-6-2 overall and 6-4-0 in the GLVC, while Rockhurst raised its record to 9-5-1 overall, 6-4-1 GLVC.
The Hawks led took a 1-0 lead just before intermission and put the match away with two more goals in the second half. USI junior back
Megan Williams (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) put the Screaming Eagles on the scoreboard with two seconds to play to make the score 3-1.
Williams scored her second goal of the year off a pass from freshman midfielder
Serena Loewenthal (Bloomington, Indiana). The assist was Loewenthal's first as a Screaming Eagle.
USI will attempt to get back on track Sunday at Drury University. Kick-off is set for noon. The Eagles return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field next weekend to host the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on October 21 and Lewis University on October 23.
