EVANSVILLE, IN– The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team snapped its seven-match winless streak with a 3-1 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan College Friday evening at Strassweg Field. USI raises its record to 2-6-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the GLVC, while KWC goes to 3-5-1 overall, 0-3-0 GLVC.

The Screaming Eagles jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half on freshman forward Andrew Bass' (St. Peters, Missouri) first collegiate goal. Freshman back Sam Gelven (St. Louis, Missouri) started the play with a pass to freshman forward Evan Stoll (Washington, Indiana), who feed the ball into the box for Bass to knock in for the only goal of the half.

USI freshman forward Michael Dugger (Hanson, Kentucky) started the second half off right for the Eagles with his team-high fifth goal of the season to boost the lead to 2-0 at the 46:56 mark. Dugger put the ball into the back of the net off a pass from Bass, who picked up his first collegiate assist on the play.

After KWC cut the USI lead in half with a goal at the 71:30 mark, Eagles sophomore midfielder Tyler Dallas (Evansville, Indiana) scored the match's final goal just over a minute later. Dallas picked up his second goal of the season off a pass by Stoll at the 72:53 mark for the 3-1 final.

The Eagles will try to stay on track Sunday when they host the University of Findlay to conclude a four-match homestand. Match time Sunday for the non-conference match is 11 a.m.
