ST. LOUIS, Mo. --The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team could not comeback from a goal down for a third time in a row, falling to Missouri Baptist University, 3-2, at Anheuser Bush Soccer Park in St. Louis, Missouri. USI falls to 1-5-0 overall in 2004.
Missouri Baptist broke on top first before USI tied the game with 15 minutes to play in the first half on a goal by sophomore back
Kim Husky (Littleton, Colorado). Husky's goal was her first as an Eagle.
Missouri Baptist retook the lead before the intermission and led 2-1 as the team's went into halftime.
USI tied the score for a second time when junior midfielder
Brooklyn Gant (Evansville, Indiana) scored her second goal of the off a pass from freshman back
Kari Land (Noblesville, Indiana) with 25 minutes to play. Gant's second goal of the tied her for the team lead with junior forward
Alisann Shetler (Evansville, Indiana), while Land's assist was her first as a collegiate.
Missouri Baptist responded once again, taking the lead for a final time, 3-2.
The Eagles return to action September 17 to open the GLVC schedule at Strassweg Field at 7:30 p.m. The women's games will be the second game of the GLVC doubleheaders this season.
