EVANSVILLE, Ind.-- University of Southern Indiana baseball team received six strong innings from senior right-hander
Drew Neel (Newburgh, Indiana) to defeat Brescia University, 10-1, Monday afternoon at the USI Baseball Field. USI starts 2004 1-0, while Brescia falls to 1-5 this month.
Neel continued his mastery of the Bearcats by not allowing a hit until fourth inning, extending his no-hit streak against Brescia to 10 innings. The senior right-hander, who recorded a seven inning no-hitter against the Bearcats last year, allowing one unearned run and one hit in six innings of action.
Offensively, the Eagles scored all 10 runs between the second and sixth innings. Senior designated hitter
Mike Kottmeyer (Boulder, Illinois) led the offensive charge with a two-run home run in the fourth and went two-for-five with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Noah Wetzel (New Salisbury, Indiana) and junior second baseman
Bryan Davis (West Chester, Ohio) joined Kottmeyer with a pair of hits each.
The Eagles will conclude the season opening homestand with a nine-inning single game with Oakland City University Wednesday, February 25, at the USI Baseball Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
