EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team used a 27-9 second-half run to breeze past the University of Missouri-St. Louis 83-60 Thursday evening at the Physical Activities Center.

USI (6-2, 3-2 GLVC) got a game-high 21 points out of senior guard Jamie Truitt (Owensboro, Kentucky) and 18 points out of senior forward/center Andrea Engleking (Charlottesville, Indiana) as it got above the .500 mark in conference play for the first time this season.

The Screaming Eagles went on a 9-0 run to close the first half and widen a three-point lead to 12 (40-28) at the intermission. Engleking and Truitt combined for the first six points during the run and junior guard/forward Ashley Green (Otterbein, Indiana) hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to cap off the spurt.

Green, who was 4-of-5 from the arc and finished with 14 points, hit a pair of three pointers in USI's 27-9 second-half run. It marked the second this season that Green has connected on four three-pointers in a game. She has hit nine of her last 10 attempts from the arc and is 11-of-14 from three-point range against GLVC opposition this season.

For the game, the Eagles were a blistering 11-of-19 (.579) from three-point range. They also forced the Riverwomen into 30 turnovers, converting the UMSL miscues into 36 points.

Courtney Watts and Megan Alberts led UMSL (1-7, 0-5 GLVC) with 17 and 10 points, respectively. Alberts had a game-high seven rebounds.

The Eagles return to action December 19 when they host West Virginia Wesleyan College in a 2 p.m. tip-off at the PAC.
