The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team missed several good opportunities to score in regulation and it cost them, falling in overtime, 1-0, to Northern Michigan University at Strassweg Field Sunday afternoon. USI falls to 2-1-0 overall, while NMU goes to 3-1-1 in 2003.

The Wildcats scored 5:10 into the "sudden victory" overtime on a goal by senior forward Carolyn Kunas. She was assisted on the play by junior midfielder Marley Garceo.

The match was evenly played throughout, with NMU leading in shots 11-9 and USI leading in corner kicks 5-4. Wildcats' senior goalkeeper Jamie Rocho made five saves, while freshman goalkeeper Casey Hrvatin (Evansville, Indiana) was solid in goal for the Screaming Eagles and made four saves.

The next action for the Eagles will be on the road at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri, Wednesday, September 10. Match time is 7 p.m. The next home match for USI will be Friday, September 19, when it opens the GLVC schedule by hosting the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
