The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team will return to action Tuesday as it travels across the Ohio River to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College. Match time is slated for 7 p.m. at the Woodward Health and Recreation Center in Owensboro, Kentucky.
After falling to the University of Indianapolis, the Screaming Eagles are looking to get back on track. They enter the match with a 12-4 record, but are 2-2 in the GLVC.
USI has dominated the series with the Panthers. The Eagles are 28-1 since 1989 against Kentucky Wesleyan and have won 16 straight in the series. They will play KWC twice in 2003, with the Panthers (1-11 overall, 0-4 GLVC) making a visit to the Physical Activities Center Tuesday, October 14.
Sophomore middle hitter
Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) and junior middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) continue to lead USI's offense. Ellerbusch is second in the GLVC with a team-leading .389 attacking percentage and is ninth in the league with 3.39 kills per game. She also leads the team with 55 blocks.
Gross is eighth in the GLVC with a team-high 3.68 kills per game and she leads the team with 2.75 digs per game.
Senior setter
Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) continues her climb to career assist number 5,000. She currently has 4,684 career assists.
USI will return home Saturday, October 4, to take on Quincy University in a 2 p.m. match at the PAC.
