The University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team captured the "Little State" crown at the Indiana Intercollegiate hosted by Indiana University Friday afternoon. The "Little State" crown was the first for the USI men's team since 1997 and the 13th overall since 1979.
USI's All-American junior Joey Bryne (Georgetown, Indiana) led the men's squad with third place "Little State" showing. Bryne ran the 8k course in a time of 28:57.
Bryne was joined in the top 15 of the college division by sophomore
Will Siemers (Bensenville, Illinois), who was 12th with a time of 29:38 freshman
Eric Fleming (Valparaiso, Indiana) in 14th place with a time of 29:54 and junior
Mark Thurner (Hebron, Indiana) in 15th with a time of 30:02.
The next action for the Eagles will be the Stegemoller Classic, USI only home meet of the fall, Saturday, October 5.
