University of Southern Indiana hitters banged out five extra base hits while four Eagle hurlers combined for 11 strikeouts in a 10-3 victory over Oakland City University Thursday afternoon in Oakland City, Indiana. USI has won three straight and raises its record to 20-23 overall, while OCU falls to 11-23 this spring.
USI senior left-handerÂ
Joe Stanisz (Highland, Indiana) picked up the victory in relief for the Eagles. Stanisz, 3-2 this year, went 2 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out three. Sophomore right-handed starterÂ
Toby Pritchard (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) gave up three runs on three hits in his first start of the year.

Mike Kottemeyer (Boulder, Illinois) and freshman left-handerÂ
Nathan Arnold (Evansville, Indiana) combined to finish the game, each pitching two innings. Kottmeyer allowed one hit while striking out three. Arnold making his second appearance in three days allowed one hit and a walk while striking out four.
At the plate, senior leftfielderÂ
Andy Nucci (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) led the way for the Eagles. Nucci went three-for-five with two runs scored, two RBIs, and a triple. Senior rightfielderÂ
Steve Owen (Wauwatosa, Wisconsin) and junior designated hitterÂ
Adam Anderson (Raleigh, Illinois) also had a pair of hits with Anderson knocking in three runs.
The Eagles will resume Great Lakes Valley Conference action on the road this weekend. USI will travel to Rensselaer, Indiana, to play Saint Joseph's College in a three-game series Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. The first pitch for Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game is noon.
