The 2nd-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team finished the exhibition season with a 125-75 victory over the Bradley Stars Friday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI finished the preseason with a 1-1 record.
The Eagles put on a shooting clinic against the Stars, hitting 56.1 percent from the field (46-82). The squad shot 62.9 percent (22-35) in the second half, while starting the game by hitting 51.1 percent from the field (24-47) in the first half.
Senior guardÂ
Joe Gordon (Palm Bay, Florida) led the Screaming Eagles with 28 points, hitting 10-of-15 from the field and a smoking eight of 10 from beyond the three-point arc. He was followed by junior guardÂ
Aaron Austin (Chicago Heights, Illinois), who had 20 points, and junior centerÂ
Randy Holbrook (St. Louis, Missouri), who dropped in 18 points.
Senior forwardÂ
Billy Harris (Carbondale, Illinois) led the Eagles in rebounding by taking 10 off the glass and was followed by senior forwardÂ
Clarence Chillers (Chicago, Illinois) and senior centerÂ
Travis Farmer (Wadesville, Indiana) with eight rebounds each.
The Eagles will open the 2003-04 regular season Saturday, November 22, when they host Lincoln University for a 7 p.m. contest.
