Harris has career night in USI win

University of Southern Indiana sophomore forward Billy Harris (Carbondale, Illinois) had a career evening at the Physical Activities Center Thursday night in USI's 102-88 victory over Saint Joseph's College. USI raised its record to 19-6 overall and 12-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while SJC fell to 6-17, 3-14 GLVC.

Harris not only had a double-double this evening, but a career high 25 points and 13 rebounds. He shot 10-of-11 from the field and 5-8 from the line while posting his second double-double in three games.

The Eagles had three other player join Harris in double figures with senior center Ronnie Griffin (Louisville, Kentucky) dropping in 20 points freshman guard Cris Brunson (Evansville, Indiana) adding 18 points and senior guard/forward Wes Attebury (Evansville, Indiana) tallying 10 points.

The Eagles set the tone for the game on the boards tonight, outrebounding the Pumas 41-21. USI, which grabbed 17 offensive boards and 24 defensive rebounds, also forced 20 SJC turnovers.

The USI squad went over the 100-point mark for the eighth time this season and have a record of 86-3 (.966) when passing the century mark since 1992-93.

The next action for the Eagles will be SENIOR NIGHT on Saturday, February 16, when they host the University of Indianapolis. Game time is 7:30 p.m. USI will finish the regular season on the road, playing at Bellarmine University Thursday, February 21, and number-one ranked Kentucky Wesleyan College Saturday, February 23.
