The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team concluded the exhibition schedule with a 2-0 record after defeating Akron Wingfoots, 117-72, Saturday evening at the Physical Activities Center. The Screaming Eagles will open the 2002-03 regular season Saturday, November 23, against Wilberforce University in a 7:30 p.m. match-up at the PAC.
The Eagles used a 12-0 run to build a ten-point lead in the opening minutes of the contest and never looked back. USI led by as many as 31 points twice in the first half and settled for a 29 point halftime lead of 59-30. The second half saw the Eagles continue to build its lead, boosting it to game best 45 points at the end of the contest a 117-72.
USI was led by sophomore guard
Cris Brunson (Evansville, Indiana) who had 19 points. Junior center
Ronald Roundtree (Philadelphia) and sophomore forward
Dennis Coutee (Jeffersonville, Indiana) followed Brunson with 18 points each off the bench, while senior forward
Diond're Givens (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) added 17 points.

Billy Harris (Carbondale, Illinois) had a monster night with 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Harris was joined in double figure rebounding by junior forward
Clarence Chillers(Chicago, Illinois) with 11 boards.
