The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team scored in the final minute of regulation to defeat Lewis University, 1-0, at Strassweg Field Sunday afternoon. The win breaks USI's five game losing streak and raises the record to 2-7-0 overall, 1-3-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Lewis falls to 4-4-2 overall, 1-3-0 GLVC).

Jill Hejlek (St. Louis, Missouri) scored on a penalty kick. The goal was Hejlek's second of the season. The penalty kick was given the the Screaming Eagles when senior forward
Kristen Light (St. Louis, Missouri) was fouled inside the Lewis penalty area.
Between the posts, USI's junior goalkeeper
Aude de La Salle (France) picked up her first shutout of the season. She faced eight Lewis shots, picking up four saves.
The Eagles will return to action at Strassweg Field Friday, September 28, when USI hosts Oakland City University in a men's and women's doubleheader. USI will resume GLVC action next Sunday, September 30, traveling to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
