Six players scored in double-figures as the University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team defeated Abilene Christian University, 103-69, tonight at the Physical Activities Center in Evansville, Indiana. It is the third time this season that the Screaming Eagles, who improve to 7-4 on the season, have reached the century mark. USI is 83-3 all-time when scoring 100 points.
USI jumped out to a quick six-point lead and finished the first half with an 8-0 run as it went into the locker room with a 55-38 halftime lead. The Eagles shot 54.3 percent from the floor in the first period to and where 10-of-13 from the line as they took command of the game.
Some streaky three-point shooting, by both squads, was the highlight of the first half. USI connected on seven three-pointers in the first period, 11 for the game, while ACU connected on five shots from behind the arc in the first stanza.
With USI up 66-51 with 14:16 to go in the contest, the Eagles went on a 14-0 run to close the door on the Wildcats. The Eagles shot 46.2 percent from the floor and held the Wildcats to 34.3 percent shooting in the second frame.

Marlowe Currie (St. Louis, Illinois) led the Eagles with a team-high 19 points while sophomore forwardÂ
Billy Harris (Carbondale, Illinois) followed with 15 points and four rebounds. Currie added seven rebounds and four steals.
Freshman guardÂ
Cris Brunson (Evansville, Indiana) tapped in with 13 points while senior forwardÂ
Wes Attebury (Evansville, Indiana) and junior forwardÂ
Diond're Givens (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) each added 12 points. Senior guardÂ
Matt Carter (Cannelton, Indiana) finished with 10 points while senior centerÂ
Ronnie Griffin (Louisville, Kentucky) collected a team-high nine rebounds.
USI will be back in action Saturday, December 29 as it host Brescia University at the Physical Activities Center. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
