Evansville native Leah Mercer (North) posted a match-high .359 attacking percentage and 19 kills while recording 12 digs and two block assists to lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Quincy University this afternoon at the Pepsi Arena in Quincy, Illinois. It marked the second consecutive match that the Screaming Eagles' lone senior has led the team in hitting percentage and the third consecutive match that she has recorded a .300-plus attacking percentage.

Junior outside hitter Shannon Wells (Merrillville, Indiana) also posted 19 kills and moved into third place, all-time, at USI with 1,112 career kills. Wells tallied 10 digs as well, marking the 12th time this season she has recorded a double-double.

Freshman middle blocker Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) added 13 kills and 12 digs to an Eagle squad that recorded 67 kills and 74 defensive digs in the match. Fellow classmate Kristine Wheeler (Indianapolis, Indiana) dished in 12 digs while junior outside hitter Kristina Kavanaugh (Montgomery, Indiana) contributed eight kills and a team-high 19 digs.

Sophomore setter Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) continued her climb toward 2,000 career assists by posting a match-high 52 in the win. Boehmer stands at 1,983 career assists and will figure to reach 2,000 when the Eagles head into Wednesday's match at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

USI will conclude its road trip next weekend, in Edwardsville, Illinois, as it competes in the Cougar Classic. The Eagles will face the University of Charleston and Wheeling Jesuit University on Friday and Charleston, once again, on Saturday. USI will return home for its final home match of the regular season Saturday, October 20.
