Assistant Coach Allison (Shafer) Krieger ’09, ’10 transitioned from the cross country course to the coaching ranks in 2010 when she joined the University of Southern Indiana cross country/track and field staff.

A native of Plainville, Indiana, Krieger was a three-time All-American as well as an eight-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honoree in cross country and track for the Screaming Eagles from 2005-09.

In 2006, Krieger was the GLVC Female Runner of the Year for cross country after finishing first at the GLVC Championships. She also was the GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for cross country and track and field in 2006-07.

The GLVC Freshman of the Year in 2005, Krieger helped lead USI to GLVC Championships on the cross country course in 2008 and 2009 after sitting out the 2007 campaign.

Krieger, who won a total of three GLVC individual titles during her career, earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from USI in 2009 and her bachelor’s degree in health services from USI in 2010. She is married to former USI standout and current Assistant Coach Miles Krieger.
